UMa LANÇA UM NOVO GUIA

O Guia do Aluno foi disponibilizado em versão digital a partir do ano letivo 2011|2012. Os motivos para esta alteração aliam a necessidade de contenção orçamental, o fator ambiental e, fundamentalmente, a atratividade pelas Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação por parte do nosso público-alvo, fruto do seu dinamismo e facilidade de disseminação.

The Post-Graduate course in Nursing with a Mental and Psychiatric Health Specialisation aims to endow its students with appropriate scientific, technical, human and cultural skills for specialised care in the field of Mental and Psychiatric Health.

Schedule

After working hours, totalling 810 hours of academic work per semester.

Main Career Options

Students, upon the completion of this specialization will be endowed with increased skills to meet the needs of the community, groups, families and individuals needs regarding mental health care. They will have technical, scientific and interpersonal skills to design, implement and evaluate actions, projects and programs aiming to ensure the optimization of the mental health, the prevention of mental disorders, the therapeutic intervention and the psychosocial rehabilitation of people throughout their life cycle as well as to intervene in groups, families and in the community mobilising the appropriate skills to each context. They will also be entitled to provide psychotherapeutic, socio-therapeutic, psycho-social and psychological and educational care in order to preserve, improve and restore the mental health of individuals, groups and communities. They will show an ethical and professional awareness in line with the course of action of the Portuguese Nurses' Association.

Acess Conditions

+ To hold a degree in nursing, or legal equivalent.

+ Evidence of formal qualifications as a nurse.

+ have at least two years of professional experience as a nurse.

Place and Required Documents

Applications take place at the Academic Affairs Unit, with prior verification the application process at the student support Office. The required documents are:

  1. Copy of the Identity Card | Citizen Card;
  2. Copy of the tax payer card (where the citizen card is not presented);
  3. Professional Licence or a valid certificate of registration in the Portuguese Nurses' Association;
  4. Evidence of holding a degree in nursing or legal equivalent, indicating their final grade;
  5. Evidence of the service time (until 11 December 2011) and professional experience as a nurse;
  6. Application form provided by the Student support office;
  7. Curriculum vitae (in paper and digital format);
  8. Documents proving everything stated in the CV submitted by the applicant, ordered according to the order referred to in the CV.
  9. Other documents deemed relevant by the jury to the assessment of the curriculum.
